There’s something magical about a warm, gooey pull-apart bread in the middle of the holidays. This Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread is the kind of treat that fills the whole house with that Christmas morning smell, buttery cinnamon swirls, a little sticky sweetness, and the kind of nostalgia that makes you want to curl up by the tree with a cup of coffee. It’s simple, comforting, and honestly… the perfect “just one more piece” kind of recipe.

If you need an easy but show-stopping holiday breakfast, this is it. Using canned cinnamon rolls keeps things quick and fuss-free, but the rich cinnamon-sugar coating and homemade buttery brown sugar sauce make it taste as if it were made from scratch. You can prep it ahead, bake it while everyone unwraps gifts, and serve it straight from the pan for that cozy, family-style feel.

Helpful Tips & Variations

  • Make it overnight: Assemble everything in the bundt pan, cover, and refrigerate until morning. Remove from the fridge while the oven preheats, then bake as directed.
  • No bundt pan? Use a loaf pan or 9×9 baking dish, just start checking earlier since the dough is more compact.
  • Add nuts for a nice crunch: sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts in between the layers.

This cinnamon roll monkey bread is soft, gooey, buttery, and perfect for holiday mornings. Quick to make and absolutely crowd-pleasing!

Ingredients

Directions

  • Preheat oven & prep pan: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a bundt pan well with nonstick spray or butter.
  • Cut cinnamon rolls: Open the cinnamon roll cans, set the icing aside, and cut each roll into quarters.
  • Mix cinnamon sugar: In a large bowl, stir together the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  • Coat the dough pieces: Toss the cinnamon roll pieces in the cinnamon sugar until fully coated. Add pecans if using.
  • Arrange in pan: Place sugar-coated pieces evenly around the bundt pan.
  • Make the caramel sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar over medium heat. Once melted and smooth, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
  • Pour over dough: Carefully pour the warm brown sugar mixture evenly over the cinnamon rolls in the bundt pan.
  • Bake: Bake for 28–35 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is cooked through.
  • Cool slightly & invert: Let the monkey bread rest for 5 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
  • Add icing: Warm the reserved icing packets slightly and drizzle over the monkey bread. Serve warm and gooey!

Notes

  • If the top begins to brown too quickly, loosely tent with foil.
  • Monkey bread should release easily if the pan is well-greased — if stuck, give it a few more minutes to cool and loosen.

Storage & Freezing Tips

  • Storage: Cover and store at room temperature for 1–2 days or refrigerate for up to 4 days. Warm individual portions in the microwave for 10–12 seconds.
  • Freezing: Monkey bread freezes surprisingly well! Wrap portions in plastic wrap, then place in a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Thaw at room temp, then warm lightly before serving.
